Dr. Shannon Finnegan hails from Ontario, Canada where she grew up training young event horses. Prior to attending veterinary school, she groomed for a prominent Canadian 3-day event rider and competed up to the 2* level. She also spent time working in the equine research industry, conducting nutrition and exercise physiology trials. 

Shannon graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2023, and then completed a yearlong rotating internship at Moore Equine Veterinary Centre in Calgary, Alberta. Her veterinary special interests include lameness, emergency medicine, and internal medicine. When she’s not working, she can be found hiking, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
